Dear men,

A woman knows.

She doesn’t need to have a college degree to know that something is up, that something ain’t right, she just knows.

When the number saved “Chijioke mechanic” keeps calling you at odd hours, she knows.

When you always have to step outside to take certain phone calls, she knows.

When you suddenly change your WhatsApp read notifications from Blue to grey after a certain situation, a woman knows.

When you come home smelling different, a woman knows.

When you start to get extremely conscious of your looks more than you used to, she knows.

When your cell phone is always facing down at the dinner table, she knows.

When you don’t introduce her as your wife/girlfriend to your close friends, a woman knows.

When you’re vague about what exactly she is to you or even your past relationships…Trust me she knows.

When you act so casual towards her around your close friends but all lovey dovey when it’s just you and her, she knows.

The way your close friends treat her, she knows.

When your WhatsApp chat response pattern changes, how you view her status and the caplocks in the middle of a sentence she knows.

When you have someone else drive your car, the new parking position, the tilted side mirrors, the adjusted seat, she knows.

When you spend money on everything else but her needs, she knows.

When you come home with gifts and it’s not your birthday, she knows.

When your love and care is all words than actions, you say one thing then do another, a woman knows.

When you’re on a phone call with her and your attitude, your tone is somewhat different, a woman knows.

The kind of places you want to be with her, She knows.

The type of things you say about other women, the way you relate with your mom, she knows.

The way you handle your most valued item, how you care for something you cherish the most, she knows.

When you speed up your walking pace so y’all don’t appear closed up, she knows.

Then she waits patiently for a proof of validation to have that “we need to talk” conversation.

While this is in no way supposed to offend you, just understand she knows. Oh yeah she does.
